Project Addendum: Cavemen Divers

After talking with Criamon, and visiting his blog, I thought that my cavemen could diver too, so if my cavemen were looking for the sea, they can enjoy of some underwater adventures... here is my freak little project:

It's freak, it's original, I am sure that nobody thought about it, at least, I haven't found any photo at internet.

Very soon photos, about the development,

 Please stay tuned!

Month 3 - Interlude: Looking for the orcs settlements

A pair of days after, the orc leader died, it was a hard interrogatory; the low knowledge of the orc language, caused that was not clear where was the orcs settlement.

At the end, supposedly it was passing the forest, so the cavemen leader decided to send three men to take a look there, and locate the place. They had to find it as fast as possible, avoiding any orc enemy in the zone, for not attracting the attention on them.

 This was the map

They started to run to arrive quickly to the other side of the map, they had to arrive there, and look on each of the three quadrants where were the tokens.

When they were crossing some low bushes they heard the roar of a sabre tooth tiger, frightened they decided assaulting that beast before it would attack them, taking advantage of the surprise.

With a great blow the smilodon fell down, not dead but shaken, when one of them was going to give it the coup the grace, a big shadow appeared near, one of the cavemen was paralyzed by the terror of the vision of that great spider, the others, caught him and started to run into the forest, hiding inside from the spider.

The smilodon woke up in the last second, when the spider was going to bite him. When he was recovered decided that the spider was too much big, so run away to a near  hill, the spider roamed the zone, but did not find the cavemen or the smilodon tracks.

The cavemen crossed the forest and arrived to a low hill, from there they could see the orc settlement.

Mission Accomplished

NOTE: In the first marker, the possibilities to find the settlement were 33%, in the second one were  of a 50%, and in the third one was a 100%, they scored a 23, on the first one, so they found it.

Month 3: Crossing the Utsha Pass

After running away from the dire wolves, the party arrived to the mountains, they had to pass them, to arrive to the Great Plateau, where will be easy to find food, and another creatures for trading.

The mountains are a dangerous zone, mainly because there were orc settlements, it is a very common zone where the travellers are ambushed.

Our cavemen are decided to arrive to the sea, so they must cross the Pass of Utsha. This is what happened there:

3 PEFs were in the zone
The zone was plenty of impassable terrain, so they had to walk by a tight path, between strange and thorny plants, they tried to walk quickly to find the exit as soon as possible, when after rounding a group of bushes, they found some cave goblins sneaking there.
Cave Goblins in sight

The last goblin...
The cavemen leader assaulted them, and his group followed him, the goblins frightened run away, but the cavemen caught them, and they were killed.

The battle sound alerted to the orcs of the zone, that came crossing the denseness.

The human leader with a pair of men charged against the orcs, but they were ready for the combat and the humans fell shaken.

The leader is Shaken
The arrival of the brothers of arms let them to recover and the battle started.

After some rounds where was not clear who was going to win, the cavemen leader invoked the fire totem and a rain of meteors fell from the sky, while, he hit violently the head of the orc leader, sending him to the ground.
It's raining...

Another orc fell down, and the others, frightened by the Dantesque image, decided to run away for save their lives.

The cavemen caught the orc leader and tortured him till he told them where was his camp, probably they will could find human women there. A very useful loot.....

NOTE: This scenario was played using Sticks and Stones, I needed RPG elements, for representing the combat between both leaders. The Meteor storm, was a consequence of a Freak Event, by the appearance of a Joker, is was not planned.

 1 mano = 1 dedo
 1 dedo = 1 nudillo
 1 nudillo = 1 uña.

 LOS CAZADORES Y LOS MAMUTS

Despliegue Inicial

Turno 1

 Reparto de cartas:
 Grupo A -> 6             Grupo B-> 8               Líder -> 10                 Mamuts-> Q

 Activaciones

Turno 2

  Reparto de cartas:
 Grupo A -> K trebol              Grupo B-> 4               Líder -> K pica                      Mamuts-> 2

 Activaciones

No impactan.

    El líder sólo avanza.

 Los mamuts mueven aleatoriamente

Turno 3

 Reparto de cartas:
 Grupo A-> 5              Grupo B-> 3               Líder-> 1                    Mamuts-> 6

 Activaciones

Turno 4

 Grupo A-> Q             Grupo B-> 10             Líder-> 4                    Mamuts-> 6

 Activaciones

Turno 5

 Grupo A-> 5              Grupo B-> J               Líder-> 2                    Mamuts-> As

 Activaciones

Espectacular.

TBH: Creating a character

Andrea from Ganesha Games, the author of SBH, FL and another jewels, has published the Volume 1 for his Tales of Blades and Heroes RPG:  Tales of Beasts and Perils Volume One

But now I am going to explain how to create a character for his RPG.

One of the things that I criticized about the Ganesha Games was that I needed a more complex characters, with some skills, more soul, because I love to play scenarios where the characters have to hear, hide or trade with the other characters, not only to kill or be killed.

The RPG from Ganesha maintains the Quality and Combat system, but adds some new elements, that give to the this RPG game a very interesting taste, between wargame and old school RPG.

Let's take a look on them, while I create my new character.

Let's start, he is going to be Slorm a Ranger.

All the characters will start with a Quality of 4+ and a Combat factor of 1. The quality can my improved paying a lot of points, so normally all the characters will start with this Quality. The Combat factor can be improved buying a Light Armour skill, that gives as a Combat of 2. Until here, nothing different. Now starts the RPG taste, the think that I think that makes this game very interesting.

You can buy skill and special rules, that let you to have a proficiency with weapons. For example, Slorm is a ranger that uses the bow with some proficiency and the sword too. So I buy levels to use them, for example Level four for the bow, and three for the sword. So when Slorm has to shoot with the bow he will have a Combat stat of 4, and when he will combat with his sword he will have a C of 3.

What happen with the combat so?, is easy, when Slorm combats with the sword he will use the C of Sword Level 3, if he attacks with his bow C4, but if he is attacked with a bow he will use his normal C factor: 1. If I bought to him the Light Armour skill, he will have a Combat 2, so he can defend himself from the shooting attack with a C2, instead the initial 1.

If you use a weapon for that weapon that you don't have proficiency, you will have a malus of -1 with it.

Also, he knows how to move in the forest, so I buy to him the skill Forester, with it he can walk through the forest with penalizing.

And I want that he will be an agile creature, so I buy Agile, so the character has +1 to Q rolls when performing acts of dexterity and coordination.

All the characters has three main Characteristics: Physical, Mental and Social, they are based on the Quality of the character, but one of them can be downgraded, upgrading another one. Or modified for some special situations, for example Strong boost the quality when the character performs act of strenght.

Now time for buying weapons and clothes, in the Equipment section.

Every player starts with 200 silver coins. I bought a sword, light armor, bow, backpack, quiver, and clothes. All that costed me around 150 silvers, 50 coins in the pocket and ready for starting the adventure.

There are more new rules for combat, making it more specific, but I will talk about them in my next entry.

New month, a lot of delayed material

During the last month I have been very busied I have been painting, playing and reading.

In this post I plan to summary more or less all the things that I have done related with the hobby.

During this month I have played two times to Maurice from Sam Mustafa, with my tricorned friend Mitxi.

The first battle was very good, no scenery, two armies, and a typical battle. The photos down here:

This first battle was fast and furious,  Maurice looks like a easy to play game, but not a B&P game. It requires a knowledge of the ruleset, and a little good luck with the dices and cards.

We tried it another time, for this one we played Moys 7-9-1757, based on Die Kriegskunst ruleset. This battle was worst because, we didn't balance the scenario, so we found a few problems with the deployment of the troops, and the turn change.

But we think that the scenario worth another try, so on our next battle, we will battle it again. The attacking troops didn't arrive the hill, the objective.

I have been painting some miniatures, some 15mm, and some 10mm.

GZG troops for New Begins and zombies and civilians for ATZ both from THW.

Irregular Goblins 10mm for SBH

Pendraken AWI for Long Rifle from THW
I am very proud of that woman, she is based on this 28mm miniature, and I think that she looks like very well :)

A very busy month, a productive month
